By Pamela B. Wilson

In a heartwarming display of community spirit, volunteers from various local churches came together to prepare for the highly anticipated community picnic. Scheduled for Saturday, September 13, 2025, was a memorable gathering for all attendees.

The dedicated volunteers worked tirelessly over the past two days prior to the picnic, preparing over 200 lbs. of meat for the community picnic. Their efforts are the backbone of the event, ensuring that everyone will have plenty to enjoy. The preparation process has been a labor of love, showcasing the commitment and unity of the community.

As the picnic day approached, excitement was building among residents. The event was expected to bring together families, friends, and neighbors for a day of fun, food, and fellowship. The community picnic was more than just a feast; it was a celebration of the strong bonds that unite us all. It was a day filled with joy and togetherness, showcasing the power of community spirit.

The community picnic is a testament to what can be achieved when people come together with a common purpose.

Community Churches Unite for a Day of Celebration at Wardell Leach Recreational Park

By Pamela B. Wilson

On Saturday, September 13, 2025, Wardell Leach Recreational Park was bustling with activity as nine local churches came together for a Community Church Picnic. From 11:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M., the park was filled with members from Bethel M.B. Church, King Solomon M.B. Church, Tabernacle M.B. Church, Christian Grove M.B. Church, New Bethel M.B. Church, Tulane M.B. Church, Galilee M.B. Church, New King Solomon M.B. Church, and Wolf Lake M.B. Church. Over the past four years, this event has grown from a collaboration between two local churches (Tulane M.B. Church and King Solomon M.B. Church) to an event sponsored by nine local churches.

The event was a resounding success, offering food, fellowship, and fun for everyone in attendance. The picnic provided an opportunity for church members to connect, share stories, and enjoy a day of unity and gratitude with each other, as well as with members and non-members of the community. Yazoo City first responders were able to stop by for a moment to get food.

The atmosphere was filled with joy and camaraderie as attendees participated in various activities and enjoyed delicious food. The event highlighted the strong sense of community and faith that binds these churches together, making it a memorable day for all who attended.
