King Solomon M. B. Church

DOROTHY PRICE MEMORIAL / KING SOLOMON SCHOLARSHIP
CRITERIA
  1. Students must maintain a "B" average for the year.  "C's" are not allowed on the report card.
  2. Students must attend Sunday School regularly, at least 3 times a month.  (Students must attend designated class according to age.
  3. Sutdents must participate with Youth Department.  Ex: Youth Choir, Ourtreach Ministry, Fundraisers, VBS, etc.
  4. Students must maintain good behavior for the year: at home, church and school
  5. Student must type a 1-page doubled space essay on a given topic.  (Each year topics will vary)
  6. A child must be  a member or the parent of the child must be a member of King Solomon M. B. Church

  1. Why Should I be a positive role model in this day and time?
  2. My Philosiphy of Life.
  3. The Importance of a Good Education.
  4. How can I help others?
KING SOLOMON REPORT CARDS
 
CRITERIA
  1. All students must maintain no less than a "B" average each 9 weeks.   ("C's" cannot be on the report card).
  2. Students must attend Sunday School regularly, at least 3 times a month.  
  3. All sutdents must participate with Youth Department.  Ex: Youth Choir, Ourtreach Ministry, Fundraisers, VBS, etc.
  4. Students must maintain good behavior at home, church and school.  (No negative comments are allowed on report card). Ex: Very talkative or talks too much in class, etc.
  5. A child must be  a member or the parent of the child must be a member of King Solomon M. B. Church.

PAY SCALE

Pre-K - 4th Grade ( A =  $2.00  /  B - $1.00 )

5 - 8 Grade ( A = $3.00  /  B = $2.00 )

9 - 12 Grade ( A = $5.00   /   B = $3.00 )

NOTE:  If a student has A's and B's, he/she will be paid according to the "B" pay scale.

GLORIA COLLINS SANDERS SCHOLARSHIP
Gloria Collins Sanders desired to increase the awareness of health related concerns in our community.  In Gloria's honor, we are proud to announce the creation of the Gloria Collins Sanders Scholarship Fund.  This fund will be set up to aid college students from Yazoo County that are majoring in health related fields.  Students that meet the following criteria my apply for a $500 grant:  Two grants will be awarded.
 
Applicants must be enrolled in one of Mississippi's four-year colleges or universities, public or private.
 
Applicant must have completed at least 60 hours toward a Bachelor's Degree in a health related field.
 
Applicants must currently have a Grade Point Average of 3.0 or higher.
 
Applicants must have graduated from a high school within Yazoo County.
 
Applicant must submit a 500-word essay expressing how they will use their degree to enhance our community.
 
Applicant must submit a certified copy of academic transcript.
 
The Gloria Collins Sanders Scholarship Fund will be administered by the Elite Club, Inc.
 
Interested parties may apply by submitting an essay and transcript to any Elite Club member.
 
AWARDS WILL BE PAYABLE TO THE COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY AFTER CONFIRMATION OF ENROLLMENT.
 
AWARDS WILL BE ISSUED BASED ON SELECTIONS BY AN ELITE CLUB SELECTION COMMITTEE OF 3 AND EDMUND SANDERS.

(MACD ) SCHOLARSHIP         
          Yazoo County Soil and Water Conservation District, a member of the Mississippi Association of Conservation Districts (MACD) announces its annual call for applications for four $2,000 scholarships to be awarded in January 2009.  Eligible students must be enrolled in a Mississippi college.
          Applications will be evaluated based on students; grade point averages, activities and leadership qualities, financial need and supporting materials.  Any student may apply, no matter what field of study the student is pursuing; however, an applicant in a natural resoures field of study may be awarded extra points.
          The deadline for submitting applications is Oct.1.  To obtain an application, information or specific evaluation criteria, visit the Yazoo County Soil and Water Conservation District Office at 220 Wyeth Drive, Suite C in Yazoo City, or call 662.746.8358. extension 3.
